In this video I want to talk about what is golden syrup, some surprising benefits.

Who can eat waffles or pancakes without syrup right? One of the most popular syrups is maple syrup. Maple syrup comes from maple trees, but what about golden syrup? Is there a golden tree that it comes from?

Golden sugar comes from the juices of sugarcane when they evaporate. The good thing about this syrup is does not harden when temperature drops, so if you are going to Antarctica Golden syrup is what you want.

Sugar does have 1 large competition and do you know what that is? Yea, it’s high fructose corn syrup that comes from corn because it’s cheaper to make and it’s in everything.

So which is healthier? I’m going to guess that you already know the answer. Princeton University discovered that rats that were fed high fructose corn syrup gained more weight than those fed table sugar, even when the calories where the same.

High fructose corn syrup is sweeter about 1.5 times more than table sugar according to a 2003 article in the journal of Chiropractic Medicine.

What makes golden syrup unique is that it has 3 sugars in it. That would be glucose, fructose and sucrose. Your body uses the sugars differently.

We know sugar is bad, but the right amount does have benefits and consuming a little bit of all 3 can be good.

According to a study by the Chicago Tribune, glucose significantly raised the level of neural activity in patients for about 20 minutes following intake of it. Your body instantly uses glucose and it’s found in starches.

Fructose however cannot be used immediately by the body. First it’s processed by the liver and it takes longer to work. This is the sugar that comes from fruit usually. You get the energy kick a little later.

Lastly is sucrose it has both fructose and glucose in it. In a nutshell Golden syrup can’t freeze and you get the energy benefits now and later by consuming it. Plus it helps you think and your memory. The danger is too much sugar of any type isn’t good.

Cryotherapy Benefits and the Big Elephant in the Room!

In this article I want to share the leading cyrotherapy benefits and the dangers to this alternative medicine!

Cryotherapy in a nutshell means cold therapy. When I mean cold I’m talking minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Imagine standing in this cold of air for 1.5 to 3 minutes? It doesn’t seem pleasant does it? What is even more bizarre is that people are willing to spend anywhere from $20 to $90 to do it.

If you are wondering how in the heck can the air get to negative 300 degrees. It comes down to using liquid nitrogen. It’s made from air and is cheaper to make than soda pop. Profitable business right?

Now you are thinking so many people are shelling out cash for this it must have some benefits right? What do you think is this hype or is there benefits to it?

In theory it can benefit someone when it comes to eliminating aches and pains, which nearly everyone has. The cause of the pain is inflammation. Think of a sprained ankle and swelling. How do you treat a sprained ankle, you put ice on it.

You see the connection right?

There is also a theory that your body effectively goes into survival mode when it rushes all the blood to your core. Some people feel the blood picks up extra nutrients normally held in storage.

Some people feel it can help burn unwanted fat, improve the immune system, eliminate cellulite and slow aging.

Of course these are all theories, let’s talk about studies and proof. The bad news is that I couldn’t find any studies or proof that it helps. If you know of any please share in the comments below.

Now let’s talk about the risks. What do you think a big risk is? A big danger is frostbite, one small mistake and it could be bad. One lady in Texas received skin damage and is suing because she received wet gloves. Another guy got frostbite on his foot, due to a mistake.

Until there is actual proof of benefits I would not recommend it. If you are interested in relieving pain from muscles, soreness, if you want to improve your skin, immune system, remove fat and slow aging there are much better choices with proven benefits.

One idea is omega 3 fish oil. Omega 3 reduces inflammation and this helps with pain management as well as improving the skin. There really are tons of benefits to this healthy fat. To learn more click on the link below.
