5 Uncommon Tips for Traveling in India

Click HERE for a free video guide to dietary supplements and alternative medicine!

In this video I want to share a few tips that I feel could help people when they travel in India.

1) The first tip which doesn’t apply to everyone, but for most people is to book everything through a travel agent.

When I first got to New Delhi I used a travel agent to find a place to stay. I stayed at really nice place and it was incredibly cheap. Then I tried to get my own place and saved a dollar, but it was a complete shithole. Plus it was a massive headache. I was consistently trying to figure out how much I would of payed without a travel agent and I would not have saved that much money by setting it all up on my own. It was worth it for India. Other places like Cambodia, Thailand I set everything up myself and it’s easy. India is hard to travel around.

2) The second tip is if you don’t want to be hassled by beggars or people trying to sale you things on the street don’t look at the person, don’t talk to them and keep walking. There was numerous times when me being nice was like no I’m not interested and a street salesperson wouldn’t not leave me a lone. I would be saying “Jow” it’s Hindi for go away a lot.

3) The third tip is to eat the street food. So many people on the Internet say “don’t eat the street food” I disagree. I ate street food all over India many times and I only got sick once. That was from a restaurant. It was extremely spicy food. With street food you see the kitchen with a restaurant you don’t. Plus it’s part of the experience. Get your vaccines. They are really cheap in India and enjoy the food.

4) Number four I would recommend using a Steripen. In India they burn plastic bottles which destroy the air. There is PCB poising from plastic. I used a Steripen all over India again I was fine. You save money and it’s great to have. I go over this more if you click the link below.

5) Number 5 is to sleep a lot, There are so many things that will overload your senses that sleeping and doing nothing just gives you balance and it’s healthy. Take an easy, because it’s easy to get stressed out in India.

Today I want to talk about eating in India, share some examples of street food.

I remember before I traveled to India I researched tips on traveling. A lot had to do with food and many sources said not to eat street food. Stick to popular restaurants.

I disagree.

One of the things I like about street food is I can see the kitchen. With a restaurant you can’t really see what is going on.

Sticking to vegetarian is always safer. If you get the vaccines, which are much cheaper in India than say America I say eat the street food. I only got sick once. That was right after I ate a Dabai Restaurant. I called it dabai doom. Of course the food was insanely spicy and I was keeping up with my Indian taxi driver, bad idea.

I love street food. Here is a video of various food I ate on the streets of Kolkata India. Check it out and if you enjoyed this video please hit the thumbs up button.

Today I want to talk about who is Queen Victoria and share the Monument of her in Kolkata India

Have you ever heard of the Victorian Era? As you can probably guess it was the time when she ruled. It started when she was 18 years old at 1837 until 1901. It was the second longest rule in Great Britain’s History behind queen Elizabeth II.

During her reign, Britain expanded, doubling in size bringing in Canada, Australia, India and various possessions in Africa and the South Pacific.

Technology improved a ton and it was a great Era.

Sadly not everyone loved the queen. There were 6 attempted assassination attempts mostly while she was riding in a carriage.

Plus she was the first known carrier of a disease called hemophilia. This is if you get a cut, it’s very difficult for the body to stop the bleeding.

The reason there is a monument to Queen Victoria is because she was named Empress to India. Mostly to bind India more closely to Great Britain.

Here is some video footage of her statue in Kolkata. If you enjoyed this video please hit the thumbs up button.

In this video I want to talk about why there is an Independence Monument in Phenom Penh and share some video footage of what it looks like.

In the 19th century Cambodia was a vassal of the Kingdom of Siam. In southern Vietnam French actually ruled the territory and the king of Cambodia wanted that France to protect them and rule them. They did and France ruled over Cambodia until 1953 when Cambodia became independent.

In 1958 the monument was built to celebrate this independence. In the style of a famous landmark in Cambodia. Do you know what landmark I’m talking about? Yes, you do it is the Angor Wat.

It also serves another purpose and that is to respect any patriots that died for this country.

I got some nice video footage of the entire monument and sadly when I tried to go in it I was turned away by a security guard.

Check out the video footage and if you like it please hit the thumbs up button.

In this video I want to talk about train travel in India.

India is a challenging place to travel around in. The trains really are a great tool to use. I went from New Delhi all the way to Kolkata using trains and the best part is meeting the people.

Every time I’ve met really interesting people on trains. One time I played music with a Bollywood music band most of the night. I highly recommend them. Get the sleeper class so you get a big bed.

When I was in Kolkata I took the local train to see some tourist sights and man o man was it packed. It was so packed I could hardly breath. If you wanted to leave the train you really needed to put effort into pushing past people.

I shot some video footage of a train station and how packed a train was. Inside it’s much more packed.

Construction was started on October 8th 1839. 8 years later it was completed. It can hold 800 to 1,000 people and it really is a beautiful building. It really stands out and is very close to Victoria Memorial. So within walking distance a tourist can see many great sites.

Udaipur India Tourism and Video Tour

In this video I want to talk a little bit about Udaipur and share what the city looks like at night time.

Some people believe this is the most romantic place in India. There is definitely some truth to it.

The city was created in 1550’s so it’s not very old. It was created by Udai Singh because he wanted to move his capital to a more secure location.

There are 3 main lakes in Udaipur and they are very important. Like many cities in India there isn’t an organized sewarage system and the lakes are facing increased levels of pollution.

Do not swim in the lakes.

I did not spend too much time in the city and I wanted to spend more time here. One of the drawbacks of setting up a tour in advance is if you like an area it’s difficult to stay longer.

Here is some video footage of what the city looks like at dark time. I’m actually interviewing a worker at the hotel I stay at and the funny thing is we both can’t understand each other. This does happen in India it’s magic of traveling to a foreign country.

Enjoy the video and please hit the thumbs up button if you enjoyed it.
